A Cup of Green

The Smiling Goat Ranch Tours

A Cup of Green and Rancho Paloma Bonilla have partnered

Bringing you “Meet your Food”  A unique field trip to a majestic farm; focused on educating children on where their food comes from!

This ranch was started by Ramon and Vivian P. Alvarez-Garcia in 2005 because of their love for horses and animals.

Throughout the years, The Garcia’s have brought many different animals to the ranch.  The majority of the horses are “Paint” horses. This is  the type of horse that combine characteristics of a spotting pattern of both light and dark colors. This is the second largest breed of horses in the United States. There are also “quarter horses” which are the most popular breed of horses in the United States. This type of horse is known as “Americas Horse”.

The area most loved by all who visit the ranch is the Petting Zoo. The petting zoo has many different goats; small, medium and large. The goats are breeding on a regular basis and the children may experience the opportunity of watching a goat birth at the summer camp. These gentle farm animals are very friendly to all and will be hand fed by the children during camp. They are surrounded by chickens, roosters, guinea hens and ducks. The ducks also reproduce on regular basis, so the children may also see baby ducklings while at the camp.

At the ranch we also have a “Zebu”. This cattle is characterized by its fatty hump on their shoulders. Its origination is from South Asia and Africa. Although bulls are said to be aggressive, GUSSIE is a very friendly bull.

At the end of each session of the camp the children will take home a professional photograph with the animal of their choice.
