ACOG Recommened Film: Food Matters

The documentary, Food Matters, helps to uncover and understand the trillion dollar, global ‘Sickness Industry’.  In a collection of interviews with leading nutritionists, naturopaths, scientists, M.D.’s and medical journalists you will discover the ridiculous cycle of toxic therapies and nutrient-sparse diets unsuccessfully compensating for an over-toxic and over-indulgent population.

Some highlights include vitamins vs pharmaceuticals. It’s a revelation to learn that “the Journal of the American Medical Association published papers which indicated that approximately 106,000 Americans die from pharmaceutical drugs each year.”  These deaths DO NOT include over-doses, misuses, unexpected side effects, or physician errors. While over the last 23 years, according to the American Association of Poison Control Centers,  there have been a total of 10 ALLEGED deaths due to vitamins; Less than half a death a year. So you have 2,438,000 deaths from pharmaceutical drugs versus 10 alleged deaths from vitamins.

Its also easy to appreciate that these health advocates state that vitamins do not heal a person, they enable the body to heal itself.

Another revelation was learning about leukocytosis. Leukocytosis is where white blood cells are released into the stomach as a reaction to cooked foods. According to the cast of nutritionists, naturopaths, scientists, etc. being interviewed, a doctor by the name of Paul Kouchakoff, in the 1930’s, was one of the first to discover leukocytosis.  This occurs when your diet is more than 51% cooked foods; your body reacts to the food as if it were being invaded by a foreign organism. Dr. Kouchakoff also demonstrated that if 51% of your diet is raw, then your body will not experience leukocytosis.

The documentary is so informative and thought-provoking – such as what is it better to spend your money on? Fancy things that look cool or super healthy food that make/keep you healthy and looking great. Lots to think about…
